EPA - an Overview of Rules and Regulations - 8, 16, or 24 hours
This is an introductory level course that provides an overview of the major federal environmental laws (acts and amendments) and their corresponding regulations. Topics include: air pollution control, water pollution control, drinking water, hazardous waste, Superfund, emergency response, pesticides, and toxic substances. Discussion includes governmental regulatory framework, scope and application of the laws, as well as the development and provisions of the laws with respect to codifying, implementing, and enforcing the regulations.

OSHA - an Overview of Rules and Regulations - 8, 16, or 24 hours
This is an introductory level course that provides an overview of the major safety and health standards and regulations enacted and implemented with the promulgation of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA). Topics include, but are not limited to: general provisions, walking-working surfaces, means of egress, occupational health and environmental control, hazardous materials, personal protective equipment, medical requirements and first aid, fire protection, material handling, machine guarding, air contaminants, toxic substances, hazard communication, process safety management, and emergency response. Discussion includes governmental regulatory framework, scope and application of the law, as well as development and provisions of the law with respect to codifying, implementing, and enforcing the standards.

DOT/RSPA Hazardous Materials
Management - 4 / 8 / 16 / 24 hours
Training for compliance with 49 CFR 700 et. seq. and HM-126F, Department of Transportation's Training for Safe Transportation of Hazardous Materials and incorporates training requirements for hazardous materials employers and hazardous materials employees. General awareness familiarization training is designed to provide familiarity with DOT regulations for shippers, transporters, and manufacturers, and to enable the employee to recognize and identify hazardous materials consistent with the hazard communication standards of the DOT regulations. Function-specific training relates to requirements of the DOT regulations for shippers, transporters, and manufacturers that are specifically applicable to the functions the employee performs. Safety training covers emergency response information, measures to protect the individual employee from the hazards associated with exposure to hazardous materials, and methods and procedures for avoiding accidents including procedures for handling packages containing hazardous materials. Topics include: regulatory review, hazardous materials awareness, container selection and management, container labeling and marking, shipping papers, vehicle placarding, and emergency response. These courses include only a generalized review of the specialized training for drivers stipulated at 49 CFR 177.816 or modal-specific training stipulated at 49 CFR 383, 387, 390-399.

IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations- 16 hours
Training for compliance with the international Air Transport Association's (IATA) requirements for shippers and carriers of hazardous materials (dangerous goods) on aircraft. Topics of instruction include, but are not limited to: classification, identification, packaging specifications, marking and labeling, handling, and documentation.

Federal Environmental, Health, & Safety Incident
Reporting and Notification Requirements - 4 hours
This course provides an overview of the various federal EPA, OSHA, and DOT requirements for reporting and notification in the event of a hazardous materials release incident. Discussion includes the individual regulatory citations, incident scenarios, responsible parties for reporting, agency contacts to report and notify, the timeliness of immediate reporting, and follow-up requirements. Special emphasis is provided on the regulatory thresholds for reporting releases involving quantitative reportable quantities (RQs) as compared to qualitative measures (sheen, harm, etc.).
WA State Environmental, Health, & Safety Incident

Special emphasis is provided on the regulatory thresholds for reporting releases involving quantitative reportable quantities (RQs) as compared to various qualitative measures (sheen, harm, etc.).

Environmental, Health, and Safety
Planning Requirements - 4 hours
This course provides an overview of the various federal plans required by EPA and OSHA (and other agencies) to protect human health and the environment. Discussion includes the individual regulatory citations, the planning coverage, and compliance strategies. Topics include, but are not limited to: spill prevention control and countermeasures (SPCC) plan, waste analysis plan (WAP), risk management program (RMP) plan, contingency and emergency plans, process safety management (PSM), HAZWOPER and other emergency response plans, and hazardous materials management plans (HMMP). Special emphasis is provided on the federal guidance for the integrated contingency plan (ICP).
