Introduction to Hazardous Materials Management - 8 hours
This is an introductory level course that provides an overview of the hazardous materials management field. Topics include environmental pollution, environmental laws and regulations, safety and health laws and regulations, transportation laws and regulations, uniform fire code, emergency response, chemistry, industrial hygiene, planning requirements, industrial operations, household hazardous waste, and recycling.

Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene - 8 hours
This is an introductory level course that explores biological, chemical and physical stresses and exposures and how they affect the human body. This course provides an overview of the basic concepts including: exposure factors (frequency, duration, concentration), exposure thresholds (PEL, TLV, IDLH, etc.), response parameters (LD50, LC5O, etc.), routes of entry, metabolic pathways, systemic target organs and chemical specificity, health hazards, workplace controls, personal protective equipment (PPE), and medical monitoring and surveillance.

OSHA Hazard Communication Standard - 4 hours
This course provides compliance with federal OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200. Topics of instruction include: employees' rights, employer responsibilities, hazardous chemical awareness, material safety data sheets (MSDS), container hazard and warning labels, and employee information and training requirements. This course is intended to be delivered as a general awareness (as compared to site-specific) training session.
